"Deals made in the dark always bear the ripest fruit."

-Faerin Proverb

The ever-shifting alliances of the Sénann are open to interpretation to those who play the Sovereign Game. One would think the Faerin propensity for self-preservation would mean that such alliances would change with the simplest shift in political standing. WHile the voting blocs themselves are never the same the years of argument, policy, and voting enforced by various liege lords has created semi-permanent political alignments in the Sénann. These are the "Ententes", informal agreements and alliances born of common political beliefs rather than pure organization.

Most of the Ententes are heavily founded in the age-old High Orders philosophies which form the backbone of everyday Faerin political philosophy. Others are engendered by the agendas of the various Houses and individual goals of their respect members.

Old Ententes

The Old Ententes are those which have either been overshadowed by newer ones or simply exist in the background until the perfect time appears to breath life into them once again. These are often the least active and more "passive" agendas of various Houses who only align their interests from time to time.

  • Hegmonist - The oldest of the Ententes, the Hegemonist regime is based solely on the ideal of expanding and conquering the inhabitable regions of known space. Anything not already part of the Empire must be brought to heel and added to the greater whole to bring order to all of Avalon.
  • Sanguinist - Also known as "Blood Purist", the Sanguinist Entente believes in keeping the Noble Bloodlines pure and separated from the commons and subracial intermarriage.
  • Virtuist - Virtuist policy and political policy is based on the Syedist ideals of meritocray and upward advanced. They however still believe in a strong guiding hand by the nobility, and have no interest in giving expanded rights to the other races.

Iron Ententes

The Iron Ententes are the most current and those which have proven the most pervasive in political discourse. Even when not the center of debate they are the quickest basis for formulating political agreements between unwary parties.

  • Legitimist - The Legitimist Entente focuses on re-establishing the Imperial Dynasty to bring the bickering chaotic of the Modern House Senate. Their theories of rule and policy are heavily based on the Alcaeist philosophy of eugenics and aristocratic rule.
  • Neo-Voidist - The Neo-Voidist Entente is an evolved form of the old Voidist philosophy. Counter to the Legitimmist ideal, Neo-Voidists seek to maintain and weaken the central authority of the Imperial Government, as they see more merit in independent nobles over an Imperial Sovereign.
